Kitchen and Bathroom Remodels Still Show Return on Resale Later

Kitchens and baths still reign as King & Queen of the home remodel scene and consistently return their value at resale. But, make sure your remodels are done wisely. Visual appeal is often more important over expensive usefulness. Depending on the home and the area, adding a bath or expanding a kitchen is a wiser option for selling.

When considering a remodel for resale, look for classic details. Neutral colors, clean ornamentation and timeless finishes.

Cabinetry and drawer fronts don’t necessarily have to be gutted or replaced. Simple re-facing/replacing the fronts and changing out the hardware can update a kitchen or bath in a single afternoon.

Natural stone, like granite or marble, is still a big hit.

Focus on overall appearance will save you money to splurge on one or two high-end pieces. You may want to spend what you saved on custom tile backsplashes, vanities or sinks.
