Top Reasons to Move to New Jersey

I might be a little biased, but on paper, New Jersey is a fantastic place to live (and not just because I’ve called it home for a number of years). From its top-notch schools to scenic hometowns, I can’t imagine living any place other than the Garden State. For so many more reasons than I could list here, New Jersey is the place to be. Here are a couple of reasons why:

Natural Beauty
If the only thing you’ve seen in Jersey is the section of the Turnpike by Newark Airport, you’re missing out. From the Great Falls of the Passaic River to the Pine Barrens (and even the Great Swamp), New Jersey is full of natural wonders to be explored. Many of these natural phenomena are close together as well, making it easy to see different sides of the state in a short period of time.
Breakfast Food
New Jersey is home to countless diners, most of which offer delicious breakfast food any time of day. While this might not be the case in other states, you’d be hard-pressed to spend any real amount of time in a town without finding a quality diner nearby.
No Gas Pumping
Since 1949, New Jersey has disallowed the practice of drivers pumping their own gas- instead, gas stations have attendants that pump it for you, free of charge. While this might not seem like the height of luxury, not having to leave your car to pump your own gas during inclement weather is a big bonus.
Graduation Rates
New Jersey’s graduation rate is roughly 88%, significantly higher than the nationwide average. This is emblematic of our high-quality public school system and the great work it does in preparing students for college.
Fresh Produce
Did you know that in the U.S., New Jersey ranks 5th in the production of blueberries, fourth in peaches, and third in bell peppers, spinach and cranberries? There’s a reason why they call it the ‘Garden State,’ and stopping by your local grocery store or fruit & vegetable stand is a great way to take advantage of the state’s booming agricultural industry.
The Jersey Shore
Ah yes, the Jersey Shore. While many people have seen the notorious reality show about twenty-somethings having parties on the beach, the Jersey Shore offers endless opportunities for fun and relaxation for people of all ages. The state’s numerous beach towns are often old-fashioned and charming, and anyone with a passing fondness for the ocean will find themselves right at home in the state.
