Before You sell your home in Cherry Hill, the Township has a new requirement for homeowners. From their website:
Effective Jan. 1, 2015, Cherry Hill homeowners will be required to obtain a Certificate of Continued Occupancy prior to the resale of any residential property in Cherry Hill. This requirement is part of Cherry Hill’s comprehensive property maintenance plan, which aims to maintain and, where needed, improve the quality of neighborhoods.
So you may be asking, what does this mean for me:
Before any home sale can proceed to closing, the home’s exterior property areas must be inspected by Cherry Hill’s Property Maintenance Officer, to ensure that these areas comply with the Township’s property maintenance standards. Items to be inspected include: sidewalks, driveways, fences, trees, sanitation, grading and drainage, natural growth, exhaust vents, discharge of sump pumps, accessory structures and ground surface hazards.
This is now required for any properites closing after January 1st. You can download an application by clicking here. In addition, you can see a list of frequently asked questions about the new requirement by clicking here.
