Trend MLS is out with their Market activity update showing a typical slowing in December and January. They indicated that one factor possibly contributing with a negative impact on the housing market is the harsh winter weather we have been experiencing. Here’s what the numbers look like:
Sales for January were a disappointing 3.5% below last year and well below our expectations for sales. Pending sales were 11% below last year, but electronic showing requests were surprisingly 7% above last year.
However despite these regional numbers, Camden County numbers told a different story:
Camden County reported a 32.0% increase in Jauary 2014 appointments over January 2013, with appointments in homes priced between $100,000 and $199,999 increasing by 59.3% since last month.
