If a messy garage is driving you crazy, here’s how to steer things back on course.
1. Clear the clutter. You may have to haul everything out onto the driveway. Group items into 4 piles: toss, recycle, donate or sell. Get rid of anything you haven’t used in the past year.
2. Make a plan. Now that the garage is empty, consider whether the space could use a fresh coat of paint. Begin grouping items by task or interest. Gardening supplies in 1 group, sports equipment in another. Then, work logically to fit the items in where they’ll be easiest to access.
3. Choose tailored solutions. Now that you have a plan, put it into action with organizational products that require minimal effort to use, such as DIY hooks, chrome racks and storage bins.
These tips can make a garage a pleasure to be in.
