The experts agree: for stress-less party days, prepare as much as you can in advance. Find smart shortcuts and preparations that you can do ahead of time- that way, you can leave the moments before guests arrive fun and carefree. Here are five ways to decorate your backyard in time for labor day:
Light it Up. Add lanterns and lighting to brighten up the space, so that your bbq can go long into the night with ease. Set up as much as you can the night before so you have more time to enjoy your party.
Set up your Seating. Rearranging your furniture can make a space look brand new (for free!). Add additional seating as necessary, and maybe bring in that chair from your family room or even create a hammock out of an old sheet and string.
Do Ahead Decor. The addition of beautiful table decorations really sets up the mood. Flickering tea lights add sparks to any bbq, taking away the need for wilting flower arrangements.
Serve the Food in Family Style. This removes the necessity for a table centerpiece. Well presented burgers or chips and dips can be the center of attention at your bbq, keeping the eye on the best part – the food.
Fire it Up. The best way to end a party is with fire and s’mores. Make sure your backyard is big enough to do this – safety comes first. If this is not possible, fire up your stove or oven for a yummy, indoor dessert.
