Top Buzzworthy South Jersey Restaurants

Due to a combination of factors, from proximity to Philadelphia to its rich farmland, South Jersey has been blessed with a spectacular culinary scene. Whether you’re in the mood for farm-to-table food, authentic Indian cuisine, or kitschy comfort food, South Jersey has everything you need when it comes to dining options. The region is home to a number of restaurants that continue to create a buzz, some of which are quite new to the local food scene. Here are a few:

Red Store

The Red Store is an old general store in the center of Cape May Point, offering outstanding brunches and dinners in season. The restaurant’s supper clubs and various special events keep traffic going in the slower months, and the company behind the Red Store just launched a taco shop next to Cape May Brewing.

IndeBlue

If you search for restaurants in the Philly and South Jersey area, you’ll find IndeBlue on a number of “Best Of” and “Top 10” lists. From spicy chai to coconut naan, IndeBlue provides a memorable and authentic Indian food experience. As a side note, the restaurant is beautiful inside and offers open-air BYOB dining on the porch (when weather permits).

Zeppoli

Based in Collingswood, Zeppoli is well-known to be one of the finest Italian restaurants in the region, if not the state. Zeppoli uses locally sourced ingredients to create each flavor of gelato, is surrounded by jaw-dropping splendor, and crafts authentic Sicilian dishes with impressive execution. If you find yourself in Collingswood down the road, this is a must-visit restaurant.

ITA 101

The mission of ITA 101 is simple: teach customers to appreciate the food of the Old Country, as opposed to the Italian-American fare that pervades New Jersey. This Medford-based restaurant got rave reviews from the start, and if you’re in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine, this is the place to go.

Park Place Cafe & Restaurant

One of the area’s newest restaurants, Park Place Cafe & Restaurant recently opened in Merchantville to lots of buzz. Chef Phil Manganaro’s commitment to classic cooking and fresh produce is getting noticed quickly, and if you find yourself in the area, drop by any time of day for a delicious meal.
