How to Sell Your Home Fast

It seems that almost all homeowners engaged in the selling process are interested in selling their homes quickly. It can be a trying process, and if you’re trying to move to another area or get the cash to purchase your dream home, you’ll likely prioritize getting it done with as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, it can be difficult to sell a home (depending on the climate and price range, among other factors), especially in a timely fashion. The Summer is a great time to sell a home, however, and there are a few things you can do to sell your home in the timespan you’re hoping for.

Here’s how to sell your home fast:

Stage The House Properly

Every room in your home should be staged in such a way so that potential buyers can have a vision of how they’d spend their time in each room. If you have any rooms without an obvious role, give them one!

Clean, Declutter, Depersonalize

By removing knickknacks and excess furniture, your home will look larger (and thus be easier to move quickly). To make sure prospective buyers can envision their family in the home, as opposed to yours, take down family photos and religious items. You might also want to hire a cleaning service for a deep cleaning of the property.

Make Your Home Easy to Show

More people will be able to see your home if you’re flexible about visits. Being ready for prospective visitors early in the morning, on weekends, and at night time, sometimes with little notice, will go a long way towards ensuring that your home is sold in a timely fashion. Leaving when the house is shown will also allow buyers to move about without feeling like an intruder and discuss the home’s pros and cons in an honest fashion.

Ensure Your Listings is on Major Online Portals

This will usually fall under your agent’s scope of duties, but it can’t hurt to make sure that your listing is on Trulia, Zillow, and Realtor.com. If your agent showcases the home on social media, it’ll go a long way towards increasing the number of opportunities people will have to buy your house.

Photos

In 2017, the majority of homebuyers start their search online and decide which homes they’d like to look at based on the photos. You’ll likely want something better than snapshots taken quickly with your agent’s phone, so make sure your listing has good photos, and lots of them.
