Get Your Backyard Ready for Summer

The weather is finally starting to warm up and summer is coming! While you’re enjoying the last few weeks of spring, start to think about what your backyard needs for the upcoming season.

Each season requires different care for your yard. Here’s what you need to know about summer.

It’s time to start thinking about the plants and flowers you want to have in your backyard. The first step is to get rid of the weeds and get the soil in your garden beds ready to work with. You should also get rid of any winter plants you had that aren’t looking great anymore.

Your lawn is what takes up the most space, so take good care of it, especially before the heat of the summer. Get rid of your weeds and make sure the grass is well watered. The last thing to do is to mow the lawn so it looks fresh and beautiful.

Whenever you entertain, you’ll want to do so on the patio. Start by cleaning it with a strong power washer. After the actual patio is clean, wash the furniture too!

Light and heat

You’ll want to be able to spend quality time outside at night. Add some solar lights or a hanging fixture. You can also add a small heat source, like a fire pit, which would add to the overall ambiance of your backyard.

Cleaning outside

Do a good clean of your entire exterior, including storage spaces. Though this will likely take a few days, it will be well worth it.  Don’t miss a single surface, window, or shed.
